Apollo Justice Dated For Europe

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney has been dated for Europe. Nintendo announced today that the fourth entry in the Ace Attorney series is set to hit store shelves May 9th. The estimated retail price is to be £28/€40. Below is a quote from my review of the game:

“All in all, if you loved the Phoenix Wright games, you’ll love this game just as well. The gameplay is essentially the same: Watch the crime through an intro, investigate the crime by interviewing characters and searching for clues, and then go to court and use your evidence and knowledge to extrapolate the truth from the person on the witness stand. Great dialogue and music help the game live up to the quality of the Phoenix Wright series, but new gameplay additions specific to the DS, and even added touches such as FMV’s (yep!!) help this game stand out so you don’t feel like it is just a rehash of the same old stuff. While the game does include characters and other surprises from the previous games, don’t expect everything to be cleared up or you’ll be disappointed as I was. Apollo Justice is its own story and an interesting one at that, and it’ll be exciting to see where it goes.”

Basically, go out and buy this game if you’re a fan of the Phoenix Wright trilogy, as you have nothing to worry about. You can read my full review here.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Review

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Those of you wanting to hop into the Ace Attorney series beginning with Apollo Justice, I advise you not to. Despite the name change, the Phoenix Wright trilogy plays a more important role in Apollo Justice than what you may initially think. While it certainly isn’t vital, you will have a diminished experience and a weaker grasp on specific characters and events. I urge you to play through the series in order. They are all excellent games and well worth your time, and as is widely known, the Ace Attorney series is all about the stories and characters.

Apollo Justice Demo! Play It Here Now!

Friday, February 1st, 2008

I have placed the demo for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (the fourth game in the Ace Attorney series) here that was released by Capcom a couple of weeks ago! The demo gives you a full recreation from the first part of Case 1, so besides holding the actual DS in your hands, the experience is exactly the same. Make sure you have the latest version of Flash Player if it doesn’t work. I know I had to update mine for Firefox as it was only working in Internet Explorer. Enjoy! (give it a few seconds to load)

Firefox does have trouble with flash players even after updating your version, so you may need to use Internet Explorer regardless.

Back in the Game

Now that I am finally at a real home and have settled in (i.e. no long trips for a while), I can catch up on the now 80+ games that I need to play, excluding the titles being released in the near future. To speed this process up (and save a ton of money), I have for the third time signed up with GameFly, and today my first game came in (sort of wondering where the other one is at, should be in tomorrow). As you can see, it is Final Fantasy for the PSP. I have a hazy memory playing this game before, but I don’t remember exactly when, just that I did it. The Simpsons should be coming in for the 360 shortly too. I rented it before, but it was right before my trip to Europe so I only completed a couple of levels. I am also about to beat Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations, in which I will make a post about when I am finished. I have a lot of “Late to the Party” posts coming up it seems.
