I totally did not see this coming. It looks like I’ll finally be able to fight as Batman in a dark, gritty environment like how it should be!

Heath Ledger’s Death

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Heath Ledger’s death has affected me more than any other celebrities death so far. I think this is due to him becoming famous during my actual lifetime, and following his career up to this point. 10 Things I Hate About You, The Patriot, A Knight’s Tale, Monster’s Ball, Lords of Dogtown, Brokeback Mountain, and soon to be The Dark Knight are all movies that I enjoyed and that he gave great performances in (especially The Dark Knight, I mean WOW).

I was shocked last night when I found out (I mean, just look at the post before this), and still am. I saw a MySpace Bulletin of all things saying “Heath Ledger Dead At 28″, and thinking it was just a way for someone to get hits to their profile or something, I was legitimately skeptical. So I turned to my most trusted source of information, Google, only to discover that all these huge news sites like CNN had picked up the story confirming it for me. It is actually a feeling like a person who I used to know a long time ago, but haven’t spoken to for years has just died or something. It put a damper on my night that instead of watching Family guy or Robot Chicken off my DVR, I just went to bed instead (I was pretty tired from furniture shopping all day too).

Heath Ledger had an amazing career ahead of him, and it will certainly be a different experience viewing The Dark Knight come this Summer, but that is just how life works out sometimes. Depressing, huh?

My thoughts go out to his family and friends. Once again, Rest in Peace Heath.
