“This website for child beauty pageants has been shut down. Your IP address has been cataloged and an investigator will be contacting you soon.”

I remember reading some controversy about how there is an incident dealing with pedophilia in Grand Theft Auto IV, but chose not to read further as I thought it might be a character/story spoiler. Quickly forgetting about it, the other night, my brother and I encountered this easter egg while he was randomly clicking on websites in a TW@ Internet Café. Clicking on www.littlelacysurprisepageant.com led my brother to a page with the above message. Laughing it off and thinking that was the end of the joke, my brother surfed the web for a while longer, and logged off only to discover he had a four star wanted level. Exclaiming something similar to “How the hell did I get four stars?!”, it only took a moment for myself to realize what had happened. After quickly explaining the situation while filled with excitement on the events to follow, my brother walked to the front on the Internet café and peered outside. Two N.O.O.S.E. (SWAT) vans pulled up on both sides of the entrance, and heavily armed men got into position, enclosing my brother in a death trap. As I thought to myself about how this is one of the most hilarious occurrences in a game ever, my brother sprinted out the door in the hopes of a safe escape. Needless to say, there was nothing safe about it, as his body quickly got riddled full of bullets. As Ricky Gervais would say, “Brilliant.”

When I tried it myself, I ended up with five stars. I lasted a bit longer, but my corpse can be found floating near some docks. Below is a video of someone visiting the LCPD trap.

Training The Army……TO ROCK!

Vito Raliffé: Professional Rock Band Trainer

I’ve accepted an interesting task today: Train a group of soldiers to play Rock Band!

How did I fall into this task you ask? Well, for some kind of mandatory social event, various groups of soldiers from different platoons have been assigned the task of performing skits. Each group has to come up with and perform their own skit, and my brother’s group came up with the idea to play a song from Rock Band, complete with wigs and makeup. He called me today and asked if it would be okay, seeing as my 360, game, speakers, and whole Rock Band kit (with extra guitar for bass) would need to be used, along with our projector. I said okay, even though I am worried about something bad happening to my stuff. To help ease that worry, I will be around the whole time everything is used, so I can monitor it and help out.

Since none of them know how to play Rock Band, I will be teaching them all tomorrow night after the work day is over. I am pretty excited about it, especially since I haven’t been able to jam out with a full band yet. I always have to fly solo :( I’ll be able to do that all tomorrow and more, as I play the game to unlock more songs for the picking, along with practicing myself to make sure I can teach them all properly. It’ll be a breeze for someone like me, since they’ll all be playing on Easy mode.

I’ll let everyone know how it goes, and feel free to suggest any songs that you think will go best with the classic rock theme. Maybe I’ll be able to record video when they actually perform!

Rumor: 360 Price Cut By 50 Euros?

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Hopefully it will be! According to several games industry sources and UK retailers, all 360 SKU’s will be receiving a €50 price cut (£38.26) on March 14th. A couple of weeks back, Canada saw a similar price drop, with the Elite and Premium SKU’s being cut by $50, and the Arcade being cut by $20.

The most interesting aspect of this price drop is that the Arcade SKU will become cheaper than the Nintendo Wii, according to Amazon, by around £30. Not only should we expect to see sales go up for the 360, but this will be one more reason for Grand Theft Auto fans to pick up the 360 version of GTA IV, as opposed to the Playstation 3 come next month. The 360 version of the game is also receiving exclusive downloadable content for the game, part of which will first arrive on the system this August. I’m sure the 360 will start looking better and better in the coming weeks, but one factor that will give the PS3 an edge in consumer’s minds will be the free online service.

How do you think Nintendo and Sony will respond to this?
