I picked this up a few hours ago, from the Gamestop that I still had a reservation for Super Smash Bros. Brawl at (I got my copy at Wal-Mart instead). I only had $5 down, but I needed to use it some time!
Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out on June 12th. I am going to play through MGS3 (which I have completed a few times in the past), Portable Ops (have never played through it), MGS1 (completed this one like ten times), and MGS2 (been through it a few times as well). Hopefully I can complete these all in the next 12 days, which shouldn’t be a problem. The only game I am worried about is Portable Ops, as I have no idea how long it is.
Time for me to relive my favorite game series of all time.
Last night, I had an odd dream about Resident 5 (probably because I watched the trailer right before bed, seen below). In a first-person mode, I was facing off against a new type of enemy: Former FBI agents turned zombie or whatever, who carried chainsaws and could sprint really fast. Taking over 20 shotgun blasts just to knock them down, unlike the chainsaw enemy of Resident Evil 4, shooting some shells into their face didn’t hinder them whatsoever. I was constantly running backwards while trying to avoid them and shoot, but it wasn’t really me playing a game, it was really happening. Then it just got weirder. So much in fact, that I will not be explaining the rest of the dream.
Here is the new trailer if you have yet to see it. Oh, and the FBI were super pale like the new enemies you are about to see:
Just beat Grand Theft Auto IV for the first time. It certainly isn’t what I expected for an ending. Maybe I should have made better choices, who knows? But it’ll be interesting to play through the story again to see how it can change. Multiple story arcs was an addition many longed for when I used to frequent GTA forums. Now we have it, and I regret my choices. It will be a while before I play through again though, as there are just too many games right now. I will have to live with the decisions I have made for myself, and participate in some of the side activities I have yet to complete.
It doesn’t matter in the end. The first time I play through a game is the version I always consider canonical.
Lionhead is giving you the opportunity to be in Fable 2, but like with most of these wonderful contests, there will be some work involved! To put it simply, you’ll need to dress up and pose like a hero of Albion would, take a picture, and send it into Lionhead. If you win, you’ll be featured in the paintings that adorn the walls of the most luxurious residences in Fable 2. Here is what they have to say on it:
“All you have to do is send in a picture of yourself in suitable artistic pose. Think old master, royal portraits or even the Mona Lisa! Dress up as an old or modern hero, go out to the countryside and find yourself a deer to shoot (not recommended) or just strike a suiting pose in front of an open fire. The thing that would make it even better is if you were to act out an expression from the original Fable.”
Here are a couple of examples they’ve given:
John L. Burns, the “old hero of Gettysburg,” and King Otto
The contest ends June 4th, and you must be over 13 years old, and sadly, according the fine print, there will only be one winner. Go here when you are ready to send in your submissions.
Now, a couple of submissions I am thinking of sending in:
1. Standing in my underwear with a sword, winking and pointing at the camera.
2. With my fists on my hips, have my foot resting on a corpse, looking heroically up at the sky (clothed).
And a few more that I don’t want to tell you in case you try and steal them. Get your own ideas, loser.
Available now, Bungie has let us all know that “Legendary Brawl”, the ranked 12-player Free-For-All gametype, will be this weekend’s “Double EXP” special. Lasting until 2am PDT on Monday, June 2nd, you’ll need the Legendary map pack to play it. Having recently downloaded it myself (last weekend), I’m excited to play this new gametype. I know my brother will be too, as he has been wishing for larger free-for-all battles. I’ve only just become a Major Grade 2, and while I still have a ways to go to rank up again, this will certainly be a huge help.
CollegeHumor.com released a funny video investigating the death of a Halo player. The death is revealed to be one of those unlikely deaths that sprung up all over YouTube shortly after Halo 3′s release (and still do), but I won’t spoil it for you. Just watch:
